What an amazing day we had on Saturday introducing everyone to our new look boutique.
It must be strange not having The Frock Exchange on the High Street in Fenstanton anymore. It’s been there for 30 years so I’m told. It seemed the right time to change the name; so many people are confused when we tell them that we don’t sell second-hand dresses. Of course the name implies that, so that’s one reason why we needed to make the change.
We kicked off proceedings with a talk about the future of Cream Rose and followed this with a fashion show. All the models looked wonderful and considering that they had never been on the catwalk before did a fantastic job. Some ‘dresses’ only realise their full potential when viewed on a person!
The wonderful Siah our designer from London came up trumps with 4 amazing dresses that looked like they had come from Paris fashion week. You’ll be able to see them in the windows over the Christmas period, unless of course we sell them!
DOM Bridal at Over, another of our suppliers, lent us a stunning dress from next year’s collection. Jess looked absolutely stunning in it, she could have been at the Oscars. If only Brad Pitt had been on hand to escort her!
I think everyone managed to get a glass of bubbly or a non alcoholic equivalent, and there weren’t many jelly beans left at the end of the day!
In case you missed it, you might like to know what we are planning for next year. Annie, our lingerie specialist will have her own room at the back of the shop. She’ll be able to fit any lady for a bra (having spent time working at Rigby & Peller) and help them select the right lingerie. It’s much more complicated than it looks as I found out earlier this year. The biggest surprise was that she doesn’t use a tape measure!
To complement this we now stock Maidenform shapewear. It really is the most comfortable shapewear you will find. We have lots of options to choose from depending on the outfit you are wearing and which suits your particular bodyshape. We also have beautiful stockings.
The Style Room is open for business and you can either book an appointment to have a Colour & Style Consultation with Luanne or if you want to arrange a Style Party for a group of friends.
We have several new designers who will be supplying us with beautiful gowns for next year. If that’s not enough, we have a bespoke service with over 150 colours and several designs to choose from.
We’ll be increasing our Mother of the Bride range with outfits from Linea Rafaelli and bespoke hats to finish of any outfit.
Finally, Annie, Tania and I would like to thank everyone who attended the Launch Party and all the people who wished us luck and sent cards and flowers.
We hope to see you soon!
